Maupin RV trips across the USA!! We purchased the RV last October 2003 and since then we've been places! Here are our trips since then.
Disney World 2003: Our first trip. 2-day driving on weekends and a week of fun in the middle. Brian had a Direct Marketing conference in Orlando and we did it all together. The parks were fun for the girls and we learned a lot about the RV.
Denver for Thanksgiving 2003: We took the RV to Denver to visit the Harris Family (Sarah's sister). A shorter trip, but still 2-days driving with a stop in the Palo Duro Canyons near Amarillo. A fun highlight was loading everyone in for a Christmas light watching party with treats and holiday music.
Dinosaur Valley State Park 2004: Anna loves Dinosaurs so we took a half-day drive and enjoyed a 3 day weekend trip to see dinosaur tracks in a riverbed. We also drove through the Fossil Rim Wildlife Reserve. And we ate at Two Grannies - a must-stop - several times.
Arkansas State park 2004: A big surprise for Sarah and the kids! Less than a day's drive away, we had a week long trip with a twist. I invited Sarah's mom and my parents to meet us there but it was a secret. We fished, camped, cooked, hiked, swam and had a really good time.
Sarah's Family Reunion in MN 2004: A two-week vacation to take our time traveling due north to Sarah's birthplace and to celebration for Grandma Lois' 90th Birthday! One of our most enjoyed vacations yet. The town is Balaton, MN, a small community of 700 and a party of nearly 300 for Lois! We had fun at the lake house, walks all about town, slept at Lois' birth home (now bed and breakfast), barbeque at the hog farm, and of course celebrated Lois and her family.
North Carolina Thanksgiving 2004: We're planning to visit Sarah's mom and Frank at their home in Penrose near Ashville NC.
