When people ask me how long I've been into photography, I enjoy saying that my first job for hire was at the age of 12. Being the only kid on the bus to summer camp with a camera around his neck, a counselor said if I would take pictures of the kids doing different things, he'd pay for my film. That was good enough for me!

After spending over thirty years in the nursery and landscape business, I have decided to go back to a crossroad in my life and see what it would have been like if I had followed the photography path rather than the nursery path. As a horticulturist, I came to know many plants and gardening techniques intimately.

That wealth of knowledge has allowed my to quickly establish myself as a garden writer and photographer, first with a regional magazine, then with several national publications. My practical gardening knowledge and my photographic skills are my professional strengths.

As a native Texan, I enjoy heading off somewhere, particularly around this incredible state, which we refer to as a whole other country. Whether I'm visiting a secluded state park or a local water garden, I appreciate the beauty that abounds, and I enjoy writing about and photographing that beauty.

Though lots of places call themselves God's country, and all of it certainly is, Texas holds an incredibly diverse array of wondrous things which God made for our delight. I hope my images will be a delight to you, as this great land is to me.
